I stopped going to church (and distanced myself from most of Christianity) decades ago, and I still get, "what- you don't believe in god?!?!"

One can dislike the church but still be religious. It's like having pride in your country, but not the government. Totally acceptable. Why do so many people have a hard time understanding that?!
