I disagree. I think it’s gotten to the point where the West sees how badly Russia has performed and are hell bent on pouring salt on their wounds. Russia will not win. There may be a last-gasp atrocity (small nuke or chemical) but at this point there’s a ton of surveillance from satellites to social media, which makes this different from previous wars. Everyone has potential for surveillance. So, that could be prevented- look at the sabotage that is going on inside Russia.
Russia is screwed, really. I think Ukraine will eventually bounce back, and they’ll have a hell of a tourist industry due to all this (coral reef near snake island, if you know what I mean).
